With only 40 days until Pitbull’s SLAM Academy in Henderson, NV opens for the 2016-2017 school year, excitement is building for the first day of school, but there is still a lot to be done before students step foot inside.

Vegas’s FOX5 More Access visited the construction site yesterday for a progress report.

“We’re trying to let academics, curriculum, and sports be integrated,” said Daniel Triana, principal of the Sports Leadership & Management academy, about the school’s academics.

Teachers will be moving into their class rooms the week of August 22-16, and classes are anticipated to begin on August 29.
