Pitbull’s Decade in Review: 2010-2019.

The 2010’s decade has been an incredibly amazing decade for Pitbull, arguably the most monumental in his career. From releasing 7 studio albums, dozens of massive hits, several #1 hit songs, winning and receiving dozens of awards, honors, and accolades to appearing in tons of TV shows & movies and partnering and creating business ventures: Mr. Worldwide has been one of the busiest men of the decade.

The decade started with 2010: Invasion. It was a massive year for Pitbull! He released his first Spanish-language album and fifth studio album, “Armando”. This album was named and dedicated to his late father of the same name. It included the smash hits, “Bon Bon”, “Maldito Alcohol”, “Watagatapitusberry”, “Alright”, and more.

In addition to releasing to his own music, he was also featured on several massively successful hits including “I Like It” by Enrique Iglesias, “DJ Got Us Falling In Love” by Usher, “Heart, Beat, Love” by Janet Jackson, and “Armada Latina” by Cyrpess Hill & Marc Anthony.

Pitbull was also a part of “Somos El Mundo” (the Spanish version of Michael Jackson’s “We Are The World”) to benefit Haiti disaster relief efforts.

Additionally, Mr. Worldwide did the honor of writing and performing the Official Mascot Song for the 2010 World Cup, “Game On” with Tkzee and Dario G.

Pitbull also embarked on his “Mr. Worldwide’s Carnaval Tour” across North America. The sold-out tour had over 25 dates across the United States.

2010 was also an amazing year for Pitbull when it came to awards and honors. Mr. 305 received seven nominations at the Latin Billboard Awards, named Telehit’s Most Popular Artist, and won, performed, and was nominated at ceremonies such as the American Music Awards, Premios Juventud, Video Music Awards, VH1 Hip-Hop Honors, and more. Pitbull was also crowned King of Calle Ocho Festival in Little Havana, Miami.

Furthermore, Pitbull performed and appeared on several TV programs including The TODAY Show, Pa’lante Con Christina, El Gordo Y La Flaca, and more!

Armando also cemented his status as a businessman in 2010 when he partnered up with marquee brands such as Dr. Pepper and appeared in advertising campaigns like Kodak’s “So Kodak” series.

Up next was 2011: Build Empire. The second year of this decade was probably one of the most monumental years in Pitbull’s career. He released his sixth studio album, “Planet Pit”, which is his most commercially-successful album to date. It included the massive hits, “Give Me Everything”, “Rain Over Me”, “International Love”, and more.

Pitbull also earned his very first No. 1 song on the Billboard Hot 100 with his hit, “Give Me Everything” featuring Ne-Yo, Afrojack, and Nayer. To date, the official music video has nearly one billion views.

Mr. Worldwide was also the featured artist on dozens of tracks including “Rabiosa” by Shakira, “Pass At Me” by Timbaland, “Bailando Por Mundo” by Juan Mágan, “I Like How It Feels” by Enrique Iglesias, and the mega-hit, “On The Floor” by Jennifer Lopez.

Additionally, Pitbull teamed up with Enrique Iglesias for the Euphoria Tour. The 20+ date tour spanned three months across North America. It was Pitbull’s first major arena tour.

Furthermore, Mr. Worldwide appeared on dozens of TV programs including X-Factor, The TODAY Show, El Gordo Y La Flaca, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Kathie Lee & Hoda, and more.

Pitbull also partnered with vodka brand, Voli Light Vodka, and became the company’s brand ambassador. He starred in commercials, featured on billboards, did in-store appearances, and more. He would go on to own the company renaming it, Voli 305 Vodka, just a few years later.

Moving into award season, Pitbull dominated the ceremonies by performing, winning, and being nominated at the Billboard Awards, Video Music Awards, Latin Billboard Awards, Premio Lo Nuestro, NCLR Alma Awards, Premios Juventud, Latin GRAMMYs, and the American Music Awards.

Pitbull took the stage with Enrique Iglesias to perform their hits, “I Like It” and “I Like How It Feels” at the Dallas Cowboys Red Kettle Thanksgiving Halftime Show.

Mr. Worldwide rounded out the year as he rung the new year performing at Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve in New York City, making his lyric “Go to Times Square and take a picture of me with a Kodak” come to life!

Next up was 2012: Grow Wealth. By this time, Pitbull was a household name and you basically couldn’t go anywhere in the world without seeing or hearing Mr. Worldwide! He released his seventh studio album, “Global Warming”, which featured the hit singles, “Don’t Stop The Party”, “Feel This Moment”, “Get It Started”, and “Back In Time”, which was the official song for the film, “Men In Black 3”.

Pitbull also released the compilation album, “Original Hits” which included more than a dozen of Pitbull’s first hit singles. Additionally, he released “I Am Armando: Reloaded”, a deluxe version of his 2010 studio album, “Armando”. It included the GRAMMY-award winning song, “Echa Pa’lla”.

Once again, Pitbull was featured on dozens of hugely-successful songs such as “Dance Again” by Jennifer Lopez, and “I’m All Yours” by Jay Sean. He was also on the official 25th anniversary remix of Michael Jackson’s “BAD”.

Mr. Worldwide embarked on his Planet Pit world tour in January of 2012. The 74-date tour moved across North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Oceania. Box office totaled at nearly $130 Million.

Pitbull also was nominated, won, and/or performed on all of the major award shows including the American Music Awards, Latin GRAMMYs, Europe Music Awards, Billboard Latin Music Awards, BMI Latin Music Awards, and Premio Lo Nuestro.

Armando also appeared on dozens of TV shows including Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, VH1 Divas, X-Factor, The TODAY Show, Good Morning America, Late Night with Letterman, and Dancing With The Stars.

Mr. Worldwide rounded out 2012 by ringing in the New Year once again on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve!

Following, was 2013: Put Puzzle Together. This was yet another monumental year in Pitbull’s career. He released “Global Warming: Meltdown”, an LP and reloaded version of his 2012 studio album, “Global Warming”. “Meltdown” included the monster-hit, “Timber” featuring Kesha.

Prior to the release of “Timber” in the Fall of 2013, Kesha joined Pit on the North American leg of his widely successful Global Warming World Tour. The tour also reached Asia, Europe, and more.

Armando also added animation actor to his resume in 2013, starring in Blue Sky Studios & 20th Century Fox’s “Epic”. He co-starred alongside Beyoncé, Steven Tyler, and more. Perez voiced the character of Bufo the frog.

Mr. 305 continued being featured in massive hits in 2013 including Jennifer Lopez’s “Live It Up”, “Exotic” by Priyanka Chopra, “Can’t Believe It” by Flo Rida, “Habibi I Love You” by Ahmed Chawki, and “Sopa De Caracol” by Elvis Crespo.

Pitbull also banged out hits of his own including “Sexy People” with Arianna, which was the official FIAT song and the music video included a guest appearance by Charlie Sheen. Pit also released the “Global Warming” tracks “Outta Nowhere” and “Feel This Moment” as singles, which shot both songs to widespread commercial success.

Award season in 2013 was very special for Armando, as he took up the hosting gig for the American Music Awards! Perez gave the award show its highest ratings in over a decade. In addition to hosting, Pitbull also performed and presented during the ceremony.

Furthermore, Pitbull won his first Latin GRAMMY award for his hit single, “Echa Pa’lla” in the Urban Fusion Performance category. Mr. Worldwide also won, was nominated, presented, and performed on various other award shows including GRAMMYs, Kids Choice Awards, Premio Juventud, Premio Lo Nuestro, and 40 Principales.

Pitbull guest appeared, was interviewed, and performed on many TV shows including The Voice, Jay Leno, Katie Couric, Late Night with Letterman, Good Morning America, The View, Tim McGraw’s Superstar Night, and Dancing With The Stars.

In October 2013, Armando Christian Perez released his very first fragrance: Pitbull for Men and Pitbull for Women. The scent was commercially successful and is still sold in stores and online to this date.

2013 wasn’t only about receiving awards and success for Pitbull, though. It was also about giving back. Armando opened the very first SLAM! Charter School in Little Havana, Miami. In the six years since it has opened, there are nearly a dozen locations across the United States with roughly 10,000 students.

Up next is 2014: Buckle Up. This was yet another whirlwind and monumental year for Mr. Worldwide. It started with his hit-single, “Timber” featuring Kesha going to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, scoring Pitbull his second No. 1 song.

Pitbull released his eighth studio album, “Globalization”. The album featured hit-after-hit including “Fireball”, “Time Of Our Lives”, “Fun”, “Wild Wild Love”, “Drive You Crazy”, and “We Are One”. It also included “Celebrate”, which was the official theme song for the film, “Penguins of Madagascar”. To date, these singles have totaled at a whopping 10.8 Million digital sales.

One of the biggest highlights of 2014 and of Pitbull’s entire career was writing and performing the official 2014 World Cup Anthem, “We Are One” with Jennifer Lopez and Claudia Leitte. The trio performed the worldwide hit live at the World Cup opening ceremony in Brazil. Pitbull’s outfit choice for his performance went viral immediately!

Mr. Worldwide also had the honor of performing on the White House lawn when former President Obama invited him to be the entertainment at the annual White House July 4th celebration!

Pitbull also continued his reign as King of Collaborations when he was featured on the smash-hits “I’m A Freak” by Enrique Iglesias, “MMM Yeah” by Austin Mahone, “Can’t Get Enough” by Becky G, “Good Time” by INNA, “Booty” by Jennifer Lopez, “Yo Quiero” by Gente De Zona, “Como Yo Le Doy” by Don Miguelo, “Drink To That All Night” by Jerrod Neimann, and “Oye 2014” by Carlos Santana.

Armando also won, performed, and was nominated at the Latin GRAMMYs, iHeart Awards, NCLR Alma Awards, Billboard Awards, Premios Juventud, and Premio Lo Nuestro. Pitbull also hosted the American Music Awards for the second consecutive year! Once again, ratings for the award show skyrocketed when Pit hosted.

Pitbull also continued the trend of appearing on popular TV programs such as The View, Good Morning America, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Dancing With The Stars, America’s Got Talent, Fashion Rocks, Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, TODAY Show, and the Ellen Degeneres Show.

In September 2014, Mr. Worldwide teamed up with Enrique Iglesias for a co-headlining North American Tour. The 29-date tour was a huge box-office success, ticket demand even required the duo to add a second leg onto the tour.

Also in 2014, Armando entered a strategic partnership with Playboy. The partnership allowed Pitbull to become one of the faces of the iconic Playboy brand. He filmed the “Wild Wild Love” music video at the legendary Playboy Mansion and created the Don’t Stop The Party slot machines at Bally’s Casinos in Las Vegas.

Mr. Worldwide was the headliner at the Dallas Cowboys Red Kettle Thanksgiving Halftime Show in November 2014. He took the iconic stage to perform hits including “Time Of Our Lives” alongside Ne-Yo.

Pitbull ended the year by hosting his very own televised New Year’s Eve special, the first annual Pitbull’s New Year’s Revolution on FOX! The award show included performances by Enrique Iglesias, Fifth Harmony, Fall Out Boy, and more.

Midway through the decade was 2015: Make History. And that’s exactly what he did! Pitbull released his second Spanish-language album and ninth studio album, “DALE”. The GRAMMY-award winning album included the hits “El Taxi”, “Como Yo Le Doy”, “Piensas”, “Yo Quiero”, and “Baddest Girl In Town”.

Pitbull was also featured on an abundance of artists’ hits including Ricky Martin’s “Mr. Put It Down”, “Back It Up” by Prince Royce, “That’s How I’m Feeling” by Ciara & Missy Elliot, “Shake That” by Samantha Jade, “Only Love” by Shaggy, “Summerthing” by Afrojack, “On Purpose” by Dougie F, “Asesina” by Yandel, “Never Let You Go” by Farruko, and “Water Dance” by Chris Porter.

Armando also received the honor of getting his own wax figure at Madame Tussaud’s in Orlando, FL in May 2015.

Additionally, Pitbull performed at the 2015 Pan Am Games Closing Ceremony in Toronto, Canada. Other performers included Kanye West and Serena Ryder.

Mr. Worldwide also embarked on another exciting partnership, this time with SiriusXM. He unveiled his own satellite radio channel, “Pitbull’s Globalization”, which plays hits from around the world and featured mixes from world-famous DJs.

In September 2015, Pitbull broke ground at the second SLAM! Charter School location, this time in Henderson, Nevada.

Additionally in September 2015, Mr. Worldwide kicked off his nearly 4-year Las Vegas residency, “Time Of Our Lives” at Planet Hollywood, starting out as just a limited-time engagement.

Pitbull graced the cover of People En Español’s October 2015 issue, being named the Most Influential Latino of the Year.

Also in October 2015, CNBC aired a documentary-esque TV special on Mr. Worldwide called “Pitbull: Fame & Fortune”. The program gave fans unprecedented access to Pitbull’s life as he gained entertainment domination.

Mr. Worldwide also made headlines when he performed at Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello’s wedding in South Florida.

Armando also added executive producer to his resume when his film, “Puerto Ricans in Paris” premiered at LA Film Festival in Summer 2015. The comedy starred Luis Guzman and Edgar Garcia.

As always, Pitbull continued appearing on TV shows like Good Morning America, The Wending Williams Show, La Banda, The View, Tonight Show Staring Jimmy Fallon, and American Idol. Armando also scored an acting role in the the hit drama series, “Empire” on FOX, which also featured his hit, “No Doubt About It”.

Mr. 305 also released his second fragrance: Pitbull Miami for Men and Pitbull Miami for Women. The summery scent was an ode to his hometown.

Furthermore, Pitbull teamed up with Norwegian Cruise Lines for a partnership. Armando became the God Father to the Norwegian Escape at the beginning of this partnership.

Continuing the annual tradition, Pitbull celebrated New Year’s Eve with the second annual “Pitbull’s New Year’s Revolution”, which aired live on FOX! Performances included Prince Royce, Yandel, the cast of Empire, and many more.

Following was 2016: Disruption. This year was historical for Pitbull, on July 15th, he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. This is arguably the most monumental honor Armando has received. At the ceremony, Luther “Uncle Luke” Campbell, Lil Jon, and Tony Robbins were there to honor him.

At the beginning of the year, Pitbull not only was nominated at the 58th Annual GRAMMY Awards, but he took home the award for Best Latin Rock, Urban, or Alternative Album for “DALE”. Additionally, Mr. Worldwide closed out the GRAMMYs with a premiere performance of his single “Bad Man” with Robin Thicke, Travis Barker, and Joe Perry and “El Taxi” with a surprise appearance by Sofia Vergara.

Pitbull also kicked off his first solo-headlining all arena tour in Summer of 2016, The Bad Man Tour. The 26-date tour included opening acts Prince Royce and Farruko.

2016 was also a great year when it came to music! Pitbull released his hit singles “Messin Around” featuring Enrique Iglesias, “Freedom”, “Can’t Have”, and “Greenlight” featuring Flo Rida & Lunchmoney Lewis. Additionally, Pitbull was featured in tracks like “Ay Mi Dios” by IAmChino, “When A Girl Loves A Boy” by J Sutta, “Sun Don’t Let Me Down” by Keith Urban, “When She Dances” by Stephen Marley, “Bailar (Remix)” by Deorro, “Bad Boyz” by Mr. Mauricio, and “Lady” by Austin Mahone.

Pitbull also appeared on many TV shows including The Talk, Real Time with Bill Maher, Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, ABC’s Greatest Hits, Chelsea, Macy’s 4th of July Spectacular, Good Morning America, Nuestro Belleza Latina, and America’s Got Talent. Fuse also aired a TV special all about Mr. Worldwide titled “Pitbull: Beyond Worldwide”.

Mr. Worldwide also performed, won, and was nominated at several award shows such at the iHeartRadio Awards, CMT Awards, Premio Lo Nuestro, Latin Billboard Awards, Latin American Music Awards, and Premios Juventud. Additionally, Armando won the first ever iHeart Radio Premio Corazón Latino Award. He was honored with this inaugural award because of his philanthropic works.

On March 11th, 2016 the Mayor of Las Vegas Nevada named the day the official Pitbull Day! He received this honor to kick off the second leg of his Las Vegas residency, “Time Of Our Lives” at Planet Hollywood.

Mr. Worldwide also took the stage at the 2016 Copa America Centenario closing ceremony to perform the official 2016 Copa America anthem, “Superstar” with Becky G.

In Fall of 2016, Armando released his third fragrance, Pitbull Cuba. It came in a cologne for men and a perfume for women.

Once again, Pitbull ended out the year with the third annual Pitbull’s New Year’s Revolution on FOX. The theme of the 2016 TV special was throwbacks and it included performances by Coolio, Nelly, Biz Markie, Austin Mahone, and more.

2017: Gingerbread Man Plan Catch Me If You Can is up next. Pitbull started the year with the release of his tenth studio album, “Climate Change”. The milestone album included the hits “Options”, “Messin Around”, “Better On Me”, and more.

In Spring of 2017, the first annual Pitbull Cruise took place! The three day cruise from Miami to the Bahamas was full of exciting onboard activities like performances by Pitbull, Austin Mahone, and more.

Armando also did his very first motivational speaking engagement at the Real Estate Wealth Expo in Spring of 2017, alongside Tony Robbins and more.

In April 2017, Mr. Wordwide performed the official Wrestlemania 33 anthem, which was “Greenlight” with Flo Rida and Lunchmoney Lewis, at the annual event.

Pitbull and Enrique Iglesias teamed up once again for a co-headlining Summer tour across North America. The 36-date tour grossed over $40 Million, raking in an average of $1 Million+ per show. It also went No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Tour chart.

Mr. Worldwide was honored with the first ever Global Ambassador Award by the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2017.

Pitbull also appeared on and was nominated and/or won at various TV and award shows including the MTV Movie & TV Awards, Miss USA, Latin Billboard Awards, Premio Lo Nuestro, TRL, and Kids Choice Awards.

Pitbull also received the inaugural Dick Clark Achievement Award at the 2017 Latin American Awards. The honor was given to him by his friend, frequent collaborator, and tour buddy, Enrique Iglesias.

Mr. 305 also performed at the MLB Home Derby halftime show in Miami. His performance went viral immediately due to the custom baseball jersey he sported onstage.

Armando also gave back in a big way in 2017. After Hurricane Irma hit Puerto Rico in September, Pitbull lended his private jet to help cancer patients fly to mainland USA to continue receiving their treatments.

Pitbull released several hits in 2017 such as “Hey Ma” featuring Camila Cabello and J Balvin, which was the official theme song for the film “The Fate of the Furious”. He also released “Por Favor” featuring Fifth Harmony and “Muévelo Loca Boom Boom”.

In December 2017, Pitbull released his “Greatest Hits” album which included a roster of Pit’s biggest songs such as “Timber”, “Hotel Room Service”, “Give Me Everything”, and more. The compilation album also included two new songs: “Jungle” featuring Stereotypes, Abraham Mateo, & E-40 and “Locas” featuring Lil Jon.

Pitbull ended the year with a bang at his annual New Year’s Eve celebration at Bayfront Park in Miami, as part of the Worldwide Food and Wine Festival.

Next is 2018: Off The Grid. Although Pitbull’s year plan was to stay under the radar, it was sure still a phenomenal year for Mr. Worldwide. Armando received the honor of having his hand and footprints cemented in front of the legendary TCL Chinese Theatre.

Pitbull also composed the film score for the movie, “Gotti”, which starred John Travolta. He also performed two tracks on the soundtrack, “Amore” featuring Leona Lewis and “So Sorry”.

Pitbull was also featured on many artists’ singles and remixes including “Move To Miami” by Enrique Iglesias, “Scooby Doo Pa Pa” by DJ Kass, “Amor (Spanglish Remix)” and “Pegate” by IAmChino, “Carnaval” by Claudia Leitte, “Dame Tu Cosita (Remix)” by El Chombo, and “Goalie Goalie” by Arash.

Additionally, Mr. Worldwide released several hits of his own, including “Ocean To Ocean”, from the “Aquaman” soundtrack, “Free Free Free”, “Roof On Fire”, and “Quiero Saber”.

Pitbull also appeared on many TV shows and awards shows in 2018 including Premio Lo Nuestro, Showtime at the Apollo, Billboard Latin Music Awards, Latin American Music Awards, and Nuestra Belleza Latina. Fox News’ show OBJECTified also dedicated an entire episode to Mr. Worldwide.

The second annual Pitbull Cruise also took place in 2018. The wild weekend at sea traveled from Miami to the Bahamas and included amazing performances by Yandel, Becky G, and more.

In Summer 2018, Pitbull opened the very first iLov305 Bar & Lounge in Biloxi, Mississippi at the Hard Rock.

Pitbull became the Honorary Mayor of Little Havana, Miami in November 2018. He also received another key to the city!

Pitbull carried out tradition and celebrated the end of the year and rang in 2019 at his annual New Year’s Eve celebration at Bayfront Park in Miami in front of an audience of nearly 150,000 fans.

The last year of the decade is 2019: Generational Wealth. This year has been nothing short of amazing for Mr. Worldwide. He released his third Spanish-language album and 11th studio album, “Libertad 548”, which included the massive hit, “No Lo Trates” featuring Daddy Yankee & Natti Natasha. The album also included the singles “3 To Tango” and “Me Quedare Contigo”.

Armando Christian Perez also starred starred in the animated box office hit, “UglyDolls”, where he voiced the character of Ugly Dog. His famous co-stars included Nick Jonas, Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton, and more.

Pitbull celebrated his 38th birthday at the grand opening event of his popular hotspot, iLov305 Restaurant & Nightlife in Miami Beach.

Mr. Worldwide also ended his nearly four year Las Vegas residency at Planet Hollywood, “Time of Our Lives” in early 2019.

Additionally, Pitbull was featured on a ton of new music this year including “Body On My (Remix)” by Loud Luxury, “YAYO” by Papayo, “One Shot” by Bria Lee & Fat Joe, “Slowly Slowly” by Guru Randhawa, “Te Quiero Amar” by Akon, and “Imaginate” by Tito El Bambino. He also released “La Reina De Blanco”, an official theme song for USA Network’s show, “Queen Of The South”.

As usual, Mr. 305 also appeared on many TV programs and award shows, such as Primer Impacto, Al Rojo Vivo, Un Nuevo Día, Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Good Morning America, Live With Kelly & Ryan, The View, Strahan & Sara, Premios Juventud, and the Latin American Music Awards.

Armando also received the Icon Award at the seventh annual La Musa Awards in his hometown of Miami, FL.

Also in 2019, Pitbull inked a deal with Boost Mobile, appearing in several commercials for the wireless company. His song “Winning” has also become an anthem for the company.

To end the decade off, Mr. Worldwide is planning on saying goodbye to 2019 and ringing in the new year and decade at his annual New Year’s Eve celebration in his hometown of Miami at Bayfront Park.

The 2010s decade has been such a monumental and historical decade for Pitbull and we definitely can’t wait to see what he has in store starting in 2020! We’re sure he will continue to make history in the new decade and have 2020: Clear Vision. We’re definitely looking forward to seeing him reach new levels of success!
