Mr. Worldwide was honored not for his music, but for his philanthropic deeds, tonight at iHeartRadio’s Fiesta Latina where he received the first ever iHeartRadio Premio Corazón Latino award.
The inaugural award was presented to Armando by TU 94.9 host, Enrique Santos, and five students from Pit’s SLAM! Academy. The award honors an individual that exemplifies their big heart by enhancing the lives, culture, heritage and future of the Latin community in the United States. Pitbull is receiving the award for his embodiment of the power and passion of being Latino, which iHeartRadio celebrates annually at Fiesta Latina.
During Armando’s acceptance speech, he got a little emotional as he talked about how much it means to him to be able to give back to his community and help enhance the lives of youth across the United States. Perez also thanked his 11th-grade drama teacher, Hope Martinez, for making a massive difference in his life and for being one of the first people to believe in him and his talent.
