Pitbull was a judge at Smackathon’s Live Pitch yesterday, which took place at SLAM!’s Little Havana campus in Miami, FL.
Pitbull, real name Armando Christian Perez, first announced Smackathon earlier this year at the annual eMerge Americas tech event. Smackathon is an international blockchain coding competition geared towards disrupting the music industry’s current state.
Last night, the ten finalists included Voxxo, DigiTix, Omnisone, and more. The winner of the competition was HyperValence, a company based in Singapore where “fans can stake bet on emerging artists, get bragging rights, leverage social connections, and get paid for promoting their favs”. The runner up was Sonify from the University of Miami. Both teams will have the opportunity to attend Woz U and meet Apple co-founder, Steve Wozniak.
The event was organized by Pitbull, eMerge Americas, and Zeppelin.
