Pitbull’s sixth studio-album, “Planet Pit” turns five today!
“Planet Pit”, which was released June 17, 2011, is Pitbull’s most successful album to date. It was created with the goal for every song on the album to possibly serve as a single. The album was packed with hit after hit, including Pit’s first No. 1, “Give Me Everything”.
The album debuted in the Top Five on nearly fifteen Billboard charts worldwide, ranked-in on ten worldwide year-end charts, and went up to 3x platinum in five countries, and went gold in over ten.

Pitbull’s “Messin’ Around (ft. Enrique Iglesias)” remains on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the sixth consecutive week.
Up five places, “Messin’ Around” ranks in at No. 64 on this week’s chart, earning a new peak.

Pitbull and Enrique Iglesias’ latest single, “Messin’ Around” is climbing fast on Billboard’s Hot 100! The song, which was positioned at No. 95 last week, rose twenty-nine places, ranking in at No. 66 for it’s fourth week on the chart.
The Copa America Centenario Local Organizing Committee (LOC) announced today that Pitbull has teamed up with singer, Becky G for the official Copa America Centenario tournament song “Superstar”.
The song, written and produced by Pitbull, captures the festive, global nature of the once-in-a-lifetime soccer event celebrating 100 years of the Copa America tournament. “Superstar” is the official song of this historic event taking place from June 3-26 in 10 cities across the United States.
Pitbull is no stranger to the world’s biggest sporting events, having performed alongside Jennifer Lopez and Claudia Leite at the FIFA World Cup in 2014. And Pitbull will perform, “Superstar” alongside Becky G live for the first time on Sunday, June 26 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ prior to the tournament’s final match in New York City. The pre-game concert is included in the game ticket.
“Music is universal and soccer is the world’s sport,” says Pitbull, “it’s an honor to be a part of Copa America Centenario and collaborate with Becky G on, ‘Superstars’”.
“I’m so blessed to be collaborating with my longtime friend and supporter Pitbull on ‘Superstar’. I grew up watching the Copa America with my Grandfather, so to say I’m excited to perform at this world-class soccer event, in my home country, is an understatement!” said Becky G.
Copa America, which includes half of the world’s Top 10 nations per the May FIFA Rankings, will open on Friday, June 3. The inaugural match will kick off at 9:30 p.m. ET, live on FS1, Univision, UniMas and Univision Deportes Network.

“Superstar,” is Pitbull and Becky G’s second collaboration and it’s the official Copa America song, making this Pitbull’s third single for a major soccer tournament.
During his iHeartRadio Countdown takeover this weekend, Pitbull revealed that his forthcoming tenth studio-album, “Climate Change,” will be jam-packed with star-studded collaborations.
“We have amazing people on it such as, man, Derulo’s on the album, obviously Enrique Iglesias, I have a record with– you know she’s been out of the scene for a while– but I’m looking forward to this record, it’s called, “Only Ones To Know (featuring Leona Lewis)”. We have another one with Steven Marley. I mean, we have a bunch of records right now,” said Pit when asked about, “Climate Change”.
In regards to a release date, Pitbull disclosed that the highly-anticipated album will no longer hit stores on June 3rd, as he publicized during an interview last month, but it is now slated for a July release to coincide with The Bad Man Tour.
